As an art form, Icons are a visual demonstration of faith & are considered visual prayer. They have long been the objects of admiration, for about 1000 years, & in the last decade there has been a renewed interest in Icons with a show at the MET in New York city; as well as artists from all religious persuasions, or none at all, being attracted to the complex and many-sided world of Icon painting.

All of my Icons are painted in the traditional style using egg tempera paint & 22 carat gold leaf. It is a very exacting discipline but also very rewarding
