The Main Artery Gallery was founded by two artists Kathleen Symons, of the Sacred Box Gallery, and Kyla Harris. Challenging the Vancouver art scene Kyla and Kathleen have/will and are curating controversial shows from Byzantine Icons to exploratory works on disability and sexuality. Located at Main on Twenty-eighth in a thriving artistic community, the Main Artery couldn't be among better company.

Classes are thriving at the M.A.G. We are well into offering Icon Painting Classes & have expanded into other classes with different teachers. We are working on developing a larger curriculum of Sacred Arts disciplines as well as having life drawing, painting & collage. We are very committed to creating a non-threatening enviroment to create, explore, develope or challenge yourself.
Everyone is welcome.

As an artist run non-profit Gallery our intention is to co-create shows with the exhibiting artists. Main Artery / Gallery is an unsubsidized gallery therefore the owners are paying all the expenses. We have been advised to stay out of the Grant/Funding process as it can be as much a blessing as a curse. So we ask artists to work along side us to bring their exhibit to fruition and success. Artists take part in the work of their show & of the expense of their show, such as printing costs and if there is little or no sales of your work we ask a minimum rental fee to meet the basic expenses. Also, the artist works some of the gallery sitting hours which is not only a great oppourtunity- it is fun!
